Mal’akh is the antagonist of the novel. He desires to become a god on Earth and believes he can do it through a lost symbol. He thinks Robert Langdon can figure out what the symbol is, so he brings him to Washington, DC. Mal’akh is revealed to have been the cause for most of the deaths in Peter Solomon’s family, and even turns out to be his son.
